Sporting
Elton Hall has a long and enviable sporting history and a large area of the estate is designed to provide quality game shooting. Many of our guests come back year after year. Well sited game covers and woodlands help to create a testing day’s shooting. The land comprises a mixture of arable and grass with over 500 acres of woodland.
Let days are a mixture of partridges and pheasants from October to January. Earlier days in October are mainly partridge and the later days mainly pheasants. The contours are ideal for partridge shooting with gently undulating hills and hollows.
The Estate’s experienced gamekeeper and staff are dedicated to ensure that a shoot day at Elton offers an excellent day’s sport in beautiful countryside. Transport is provided in the Estate’s Gun Trailer or in the guest’s own transport if preferred. Lunch and tea are provided in the Billiard Room at Elton Hall, or hot elevenses are provided on the shoot with a late lunch in the Billiard Room.
Elton Hall is situated 3 miles west of the A1 on the A605 and 65 miles north of the M25/A1 junction. Peterborough station is 20 minutes away with regular trains to London Kings Cross, which takes 45 minutes.
We have arrangements with a number of local hotels if accommodation is required.
